    That's the positive thing about open source, that anyone can start a fork for any reason and it's time (and work) that will tell if the student surpasses the master. You say that the problem is how abraunegg started with his fork and that this is no way to do a fork but the reality is that it is neither better nor worse than any other way. I'm not going to debate whether one version or the other is better, I don't think it's necessary because it's quite obvious.
